The town was founded by a group of Moravians in early 1700’s the oldest building still remaining, Gemeinhaus, dating back to 1741, is a National Historic Landmark.  The Historic Bethlehem organization is a non-profit  associate of the Smithsonian Institute. They offer a number of historic tours and there are a number of  Museums and Historic Sites you can visit on your own.  The area is chockfull of covered bridges and authentic original wood built cabins. There are driving tour pamphlets available to get you out to see them.
We took the John Adams tour that they were offering and it was very interesting. Â After that we when on the Steel Tour.
If you come to Bethlehem you must look into these tours. Â They are well worth you time and very interesting.
