We said goodbye to our friend Mars last night after our big day in Amsterdam. It was sad to say goodbye, I hope he can come and visit us in our country one day.
Granny says we are doing mostly a road trip today with just one stop of photos at a historic location. But she says there will be lots to see along the road as we go.
We went to the city of Trier today. It was the first city in Germany. The Celts settled here and then the Romans. There are lots of Roman ruins in the city. This was also home to Constantine, he was a famous leader a very long time ago. He also became an Emperor of the known world. That was a very big job.
We visited the church that was built for him and also the place he held official duties. The Romans never made it to our part of the world, so we do not have buildings and ruins like these in our country.
Here I am sitting in the old room were the emperor did his daily work but is now a big church.
Here I am talking to a stone animal maybe it is a dog or a lion. Granny says it is very old.
Here I am outside the church can you see me there in the tall statues?
As we traveled the countryside we went through belgium and a tinny part of Luxumburg. The land was very hilly with lots of steep valleys, I bet they do not ride so many bikes here as they do in holland, which doesn’t have many hills at all.
There were lots of wind turbines all over the hills. We call them wind farms at home. Just like at home the turbins were in the fields with corn and cows. There were also hills with solar collectors covering them. That was very interesting to see.
One other exciting thing we saw on the road were lots of hot air balloons. They must have been very big up close because they looked VERY big from the road and they were all high up. Grandpaul said there must have been some kind of hot air ballon show or race going on because there were so many of them.
We arrived at out last point very late at night. There are not many photos of me today.
