slovakia countrysideThe Treta Mountains were lovely and draped in morning fog late into the day. Every now and again their peaks could be seen poking out of the low clouds off to our left or right as we drove along the road.

It was another long day on the road today as we made our way to Inga. Slovakia is building a new highway through the country. A huge project that when completed will cut the driving time for east to west dramatically. Our own experience driving off and on the completed and incomplete parts will attest to it. There were some amazing large bridges in progress with the finish date still years away.

This fog later turned to rain. We reached Inga’s city a bit after noon then headed for a cafe with whiffy so we could locate our sleeping quarters for the night. Armed with the now common afternoon latte we found a penzion in short order, dropped ogf our bags and then told the car to find Inga and so it did.

Upon arriving, many hugs were exchanged and hellos from the others from earlier were passed in accordance of their wishes. Inga ordered pizza, we ate it and then found the local drug store to stock up on some painkillers for Derek. His shoes have not been happy with all this touring and is taking it out on his feet. We all then went to Inga’s work at the television station to watch her work. Upon arrival we meet Inga’s friends, the cast and crew and watched Inga smoke cigarettes on the rooftop.
Of course, we had to take some photos of Paul and Derek at the newscaster’s desk.

inga tv graphicIt seemed pretty quite at the station, but 10 minutes before the news went live, the atmosphere changed.  Lots of new people streamed into the control room, exchanging quick hellos and smiles before they all got down to work. It was standing room only as we watch the action first hand. The onscreen talent seemed very young compared to our own newscasters. Not unlike some of the students wondering around our campus on an average day.

After work we  went a pub called the Little Roster adn got some food and meet some friends of Inga.  We had a great time and stayed up very late more adventures to row.

All and all a fascinating evening.

Sorry about out the lateness of this post hotel network didn’t connect last night.
