Rested up and almost ready to hit the road to Cologne for the day. We will follow the Rhein up as we go.
There was a beautiful view of the river this am when I looked out off our room’s balcony.
More as we progress on the day.
Made it to Cologne Cathedral (Koln Dom) was in the process of being cleaned up so had a bit of scaffolding around the outside of it. You could see by the areas that have already been cleaned up that it must have been an amazing sight back in the day when it was the tallest building for miles around. It was very impressive in its scale and even more so that it is there at at. Saw a photo from during the war The Cathedral was the only building standing fro many blocks.
After Cologne we headed for the Netherlands and there met up with our friend Rask. Had a bit of a night on the town and just got back in at 12:00 ish am (6:00 pm et, 3:00 pm slt). Time for bed as soon as this entry is uploaded loaded.
That is incredibly beautiful, the glow of the sunlight is like that of an oil painting. I will view this many times. Thank you for keeping us informed. Enjoy
That’s a great picture; it makes me want to travel beyond the Delaware Valley.
You know, you’ll be passing near Winterthur Switerland, the home of the Gaulish metal band Eluveitie .
Here’s a link to one of their songs .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFaOU1i9pFo .
The chorus is chilling ” Vrit me lindos, dubnon piseti ” .
It’s definitely a contender for best metal song with hurdy-gurdy .
Such a peaceful view to begin your day. The photos are wonderful TY for sharing your trip with us all. Looking forward to more. Have fun.
