This is a placeholder entry (hopefully, more to come later) for Paul’s trips to Brazil in July 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Paul took a side trip to Ouro Preto and luckily happened to show up during the city’s Festival de Iverno or Winter Festival. A 1700’s gold rush town, Ouro Preto or Black Gold, got its name from the local gold covered in iron oxide and was an early capital of the state of Minas Gerais.
