Had an early start out of Hofn as we set ourselves to return back the way we came on Route 1. It looked like it would be a grand day to be outside, no rain in the forecast until late afternoon. Uncle Google says Hofn to Reykjavik is a five hour drive. We will prob. spend 8-10 hours on the road.
The most exciting part of the day was the stop at the icebergs and taking a Zodiac ride very close to the glacier that produces those icebergs. We each took a few hundred photos so you will probably be seeing lots of those over time.
We also got to photograph the sights we passed in the dark of night last night as well as take a few more photos of the mysterious bra fence at the abandoned farm (so mysterious even the local delivery guy didn’t have the scoop on it). Toward late afternoon we hit the rain we had left behind yesterday. Then as darkness fell we ran into a snow squall, in some places there was a nice accumulation. This slowed us down a bit, but we already had booked a place for the night in the city. So at least we know we got a good spot for the night waiting for us when we finally rolled into town for the night.
We are super tired so will have to tell you all about the icebergs tomorrow, or maybe Sunday, since we will be traveling back home tomorrow and not getting in until late.
