We arrived in Frankfurt, Germany around 2 pm, picked up a car, and soon enough, we were on the road.
We decided to stop at Wurzburg, a UNESCO World Heritage City, for a late lunch/early dinner. We found Alte Mainmühle, somewhat hidden, that offered great views from a balcony on the Riven Main adjacent to the sculpture-covered bridge. We had a wonderful healthy meal, especially appreciated after airline fare and the airport on layover. Lots of great architecture all around. We could have spent a very long time there, but we pushed forward to Regensburg our planned destination for the night, and also a UNESCO World Heritage City.
It was getting late and both of us were pretty beat, and the traffic was backed up from accidents. Truckers here are just like home, they drive crazy. We finally made it at about 9:30 and found our spot for the night, on the square of St. Peter’s dom or cathedral. We took some night photographs and look forward to exploring tomorrow.
Glad to see you on vacation again. I loved Regensburg when we stopped there. There’s a geocache there! Enjoy.
