We left the River View apartments, our two day home base in Glasgow today and headed north to see the Highlands. Glasgow was clear this morning when we started. As we have heard more than once when commenting on the weather, “Ah yes, in 15 mins that will change”. And so it did. As we got further away from the city the fog was there to embrace us, leaving Loch Lemond veiled in mystery, that is until we reached the very top. Our trip into the Rannoch moor on to Glencoe was lovely.

Had a late lunch at Port William at the Grog and Gruel. Great food and lots of veggie options including a wonderful sounding veggie Haggis, which we did not try. We were all very pleased with our lunches and pints of real ale. Was a late drive to Edinburgh as all wanted to press forward to Dornie and the castle there. It was very dark when we passed through the 5 sisters so we really couldn’t see much. The Castle was all lit up though. We pulled in to Edinburgh just in time for our US Happy Hour, but no one was tried to look us up on skype.
Had a few pints and are back to our apt. for the night.

Heard there was a big storm back home. Hope you are all ok there and keeping warm. Over all we have been very lucky with the weather.
Will post some photos tomorrow as my battery is about to die and we killed one of our adaptors and need to replace it.
Very late here, a bit of Sleepytime tea and off to bed with me.
