The following is a dispatch from Poopsie…

We drove to the country of Belgium today! It is also a small country and to the east of the Netherlands. We went the the big city of Antwerp.

There were lots of things to see here, a small castle, a musical instrument museum, and another Cathedral. Granny and Grandpaul really do seem to like to look at those big fancy churches. There was a man playing a violin near the entry way of the cathedral. It sounded very pretty.

The people of Belgium claim that what we call French Fries were invented right here in this country, even though they are not called Belgium Fries. France is a much bigger country to the east. Granny and Grandpaul say we are not going there on this trip. They serve fries along the side of a road in a paper cup with lots of mayo on top. I didn’t want to try it because I didn’t want to get my fur all yucky. But Granny and Grandpaul and Mars did and enjoyed it very much.

We saw this sculpture in the church, Mars said he thought it might be in memory of the inventor of the first cone for holding fries. Our friend Mars is a very silly human, isn’t he?

Here is another photo of me in front of the castle, I like having my photo taken.

We had a nice break in the main market square. There was a very nice fountain there. You can see it behind me in the photo. The fountain tells the story of how Amsterdam was made from a giants hand.

The famous old masters painter Rubin’s house is here, too. He made a lot of paintings of people with very fancy ruffled lace colars on their clothes and men with fancy mustaches. We could not take photos inside his house, but we could in his garden, so here is a photo of me with his house in the background. It was a very nice house and garden.

The square was very busy with people drinking coffee there were lots of dogs too! Everyone brings their dogs to the shops and cafes. We can not do that in our country. There was a brass band playing in the square. They were very good and played very happy sounding music.
